Wings - digital doodle

It's been a long while since I've participated in Illustration Friday, but I did want to start up again. The  nice part of I.F. is that you can practice drawing using an idea that is not your own. It's good to be practiced doing this since clients never say "Draw whatever you want" ;)
Anyway, here's my interpretation of the word Wings.  Books, in my mind, give children wings!

The Sketchbook Project 2013 

This year I wanted to find a project to work on with my 6 year old. She loves to draw and tell stories. When I mentioned this to her and asked her if she wanted to do a sketchbook, she got really excited. I was going to get her one of her own and I would do one, but she said no, that this would be a sketchbook we would do TOGETHER.  I have to admit I like this idea even more! So we looked at the tour topics and choose together, and discussed our plans for the chosen topic.

As soon as we get our sketchbook in the mail we will start working on it, we have until August 15th to hand it in.  So stay tunned, we plan on posting our progress as we go!  In the mean time, if you are interested in participating in the Sketchbook Project, here's the link. It's open for all ages, so a great project for kids and adults alike :D
